The RA’s operations and decisions are guided by Bermuda law. Understanding these laws will help to better understand the RA’s actions and decisions.
Regulations are a statutory instrument, a form of legislation, made by a Minister as per the Statutory Instruments Act 1977. Regulations apply to all participants in the sector for which the Minister is responsible; in this case, the Electronic Communications sector.
A General Determination (“GD”) is a statutory instrument issued by the RA, pursuant to section 62 of the Regulatory Authority Act 2011, in order to carry out its regulatory functions.
